Dear Universe:
I never believed that life could throw such unexpected and wonderful surprises our way, but now more than ever I do believe that there are at least some things predetermined in our lives. And I certainly believe more so than ever in the idea of taking life one step at a time, focusing on what needs to be done today and then taking care of tomorrow and the next day. Live in the moment and seize every opportunity you're given to make people smile.
ARK - Act of Random Kindness. For the past month, I have made it a priority in my life to do one act of random kindness for individuals each day. And I have succeeded every day thus far. And not only on that, but I also righted the wrong I did. Nothing is making me happier. In a very special twist of events, one individual in particular has taught me one of life's most important lessons: always smile and live in the moment. It's so easy chatting with him and taking walks with him - the time seems to just completely fly by and it's so much easier talking to him than I could have ever imagined. Even dancing with him (and for that matter singing with him) is something I never did with anyone I was involved with. The moral of this little anecdote is that he's teaching me and helping me become a better person, even without realizing it. A true inspiration to all of us.
On that note, I've been listening to this song for quite some time and it always seems to make me smile. I hope that it brightens all of your days as well :)

I also made a new friend in these past two days. I mean, we've been taking the same Latin class together for almost nine months, but hanging outside the classroom is pretty chillsauce as well. Even though zombie self-defense was cancelled (who cares, we still got free t-shirts) we ended up at Winco buying stuffed dragons. No alcohol was involved in this playtime :)
The one sad note: I did not get the UPC position that I applied for. They told me that I'm not going in the same direction that they want the council to go and that it wasn't really a great fit. Time to bite the bullet on that one, but I am still teaching First Year Seminar in the fall as a third-year peer instructor, so I guess it all evens out. I don't need people telling me I'm under-qualified for a position I think I rightfully earned.
Until next time, everyone!
