Let's Conquer Another League

"We do things a little differently out here in the Johto League."

The first words that Gym Leader Faulkner spoke to Ash Ketchum when he approached the Violet City Gym asking to compete in his first battle of the Johto League and the words that made Ash realize that his usual method of battling wasn't going to cut it out West. It gave him reason to think that he might have to change the way he approached what he devoted his life to and take a fresh approach.

See, I told you folks that I could relate almost anything in my life to Pokemon if I tried hard enough. I'll go ahead and call that my win for the day.

Seriously, though.

So many people have been coming up to me in the past few days and telling me how much they like being around me because of how optimistic I'm becoming and how I'm really starting to look at the positive side of things, as opposed to the old mindset I used to have of the glass being half empty. So that's one of my goals for this new semester and, really, for as long as I can keep it going: to look at the positives and focus on what makes me smile, as opposed to worrying about things that give me a heavy burden to deal with.

That having been said, here's something I'm sure that the two people who read this blog have been waiting for, a summary of the first week back of classes. Although it was busier than I could have ever imagined with all of the new students coming in to set up computer accounts and wireless devices, the paycheck I get on the first of February is definitely going to be worth the stress and lack of sleep. Plus, I got told by the Political Science Department that I received a scholarship for the spring semester, which more or less pays for all of my textbooks and other class-related expenses, meaning I don't have to pay out of pocket for schoolbooks and other needed materials.

Completely awesome!

Plus, I'm taking two classes with my very favorite professor this semester and three classes with one of my best friends in the entire world. I am so excited for what this semester holds.

Optimism is the best way to see life!!!
