Thanks For The Memories

I fully acknowledge that the name of this blog post is also the name of a popular song, the artist whose name escapes me at the moment. Regardless, I make no claim to the rights of the song, but the post's title is in reference to my sincere gratitude for the honor and privileges I have had in the past couple of weeks.

Taking a change in the route of my path to Broadway (just kidding), I participated in DanceWorks: Dance ISU in Concert as part of Dr. Lauralee Zimmerly's piece I Am No Longer Standing in the Gathering Dust. I thought it would be fun to have more time to dance and relieve some stress that's been going on in my life these past couple of months and I was correct, because participating in this show was one of the most wonderful experiences I could have ever had, and I will be forever grateful for the privilege.

I've participated in DANSON concerts and guest workshops before, but this was the first performance I've been a part of that was choreographed by the Department of Dance and its faculty here at Idaho State. I think it's a safe bet to say that this was a different experience than participating in club concerts before, but the wonderful people I've met during the course of this show will allow me to be forever thankful.

Even within Lauralee's piece, I've met some amazing people and made new friends, including one who happens to share my love of Yu-Gi-Oh and DragonBallZ - thanks Daniel :) Whether it be having random paper fights with "the gathering dust" on the floor before the curtain opened, avoiding puddles of water because they make you slip into your somersaults, or telling sick jokes backstage, these folks are some of the most wonderful people I've ever met.

Just wanted to say, thanks for the memories everyone!
