For Whom The Wedding Bell Tolls, With The Tide

"For whom the tidal bells toll and at last comes the end of the spectacular show. Slumbering below us in the mighty deep, the ancient ones dwell in their eternal sleep..."

I have absolutely no idea how I came up with that quote, but I thought it was appropriate given how my final and most memorable day in California took place on the beach in the tide. The second part of the quote makes a reference to how I felt watching the creatures of SeaWorld glide past us in their tanks - and I know that sounds really weird, but the most fun I've had in recent years came from that place.

The final day of my California trip centered around my sister's wedding and because she asked me to walk her down the isle in place of our father not being there, that day is probably one of the few things I will keep in my heart for all time and eternity. Angie and I had never really gotten along until I moved away from home about four years ago, but then we started to become closer. I think it's always been difficult because we were so close in age, but now I think we're really good friends and I'm so happy I was able to be there for her wedding. Below are a couple of my favorite pictures from the big day itself.

This first picture was of the wedding party. From left, me, my sister-in-law Mady, Miranda, Angie, Jake, Jake's best man, Megan, Elio, and Gina. Taken right after the wedding itself happened before sunset.

This is one of my favorite pictures that Angie and I have ever taken and this was taken when I was walking her down the isle across the beach. Walking in flip flops and heels was a definite challenge, but so worth it to see her make it to the altar and stand there with the sun getting ready to go down.

You can definitely tell that Gina and Megan had fun at the wedding because right after the ceremony they took off into the ocean with their bridesmaid dresses still on and everything. Hilarious :)

Again, another amazing picture. This photo was taken right after they said "I do" and started the sand-mixing ceremony where they each poured sand into a vial to signify their union and commitment to one another.

This final photograph was taken just as the sun was beginning to set on Coronado Island, California. I think this is the photograph where the photographer wanted to get the entire bridal party in a picture with the sun setting and the tide rolling in the background. It turned out so spectacularly....
