That Was A Bizarre Twist of Events...

People never fail to amaze me - both in ways that I want to hug them and give them one of my rare smiles and ways that make me want to push them down a well. Case in point:

A certain person who, by their own definition is "quite a catch" and happens to be one of those individuals that acts all happy-dancey my-life-is-a-sugarcoated-rainbow-of-magical-wonder has recently decided that I am "worthy of his attention" once again.

Finally my prayers are answered.

I mean, seriously. It's like I've been waiting my whole life for this. I've been paying for my guilt and making things right for the better part of the last year and it's only when I stop talking to you for a month that you realize that I've moved on with my life? It's only when people start acting like you aren't the center of attention and you aren't half as attractive as you claim to be that you start to realize that our opinions do mean something and we are the kind of people who have better things to do than follow your teasing nature to the ends of the earth.

In all seriousness, it doesn't matter.

Really, it doesn't. You reach a certain point where you just can't even bring yourself to answer their messages because you're long since past the time where you'd race to your phone if you knew they were the ones calling or texting. You're starting to see other people because you know you just can't compete with the others that the person is interested in.

This is why I find more joy in playing my Pokemon games than I do interacting with people face-to-face. Face the facts: Pokemon never lie to you. Pikachu never stabs you in the back. Charizard doesn't flirt with ten other guys and then have the nerve to tell you that you're "one of the lucky ones." Bulbasaur doesn't use razor leaf on your heart and make you feel like less of a human being. You get the picture.

And to the person that I'm ranting about, I really hope you read this. I hope it gives you a serious wake-up call.
